A few days ago, we had the pleasure to receive a group of 26 high school students from “Apáczai Csere János Highschool” – a historical local highschool. Their informatics teacher accompanied them. Organized under the frame of „School In A Different Way 2025” National Programme, the visit focused on how to develop a career in IT Cluj, now.
Raising responsible, open-minded, well-informed new generations sets a great challenge for parents, for educational institutions, but also and for the private companies which are working with young people. Once again, this year, the “School In A Different Way” Programme provides an excellent opportunity to bring together the teachers, the high-schoolers and the employers from different workfields.
Each year juniors join our team at Codespring | Softech and we are allways delighted to wellcome them. Our offices based in Cluj, Mureș and Harghita have already become preferred destinations for pupils with informatics and mathematics profile. They intend to study in the near future at one of the elite universities in Romania, and many of them wish to follow a software developer career.
“School in a Different Way 2025” provides a chance to enlarge the horizons of pupils before choosing a tertiary education. That is why, our team welcomed the group and gave them a short overview of our company. The 27-year old story of our company can be divided in two major chapters: before and after the Mentoring Programme in IT Cluj. Now, as a fun fact: the mentoring programme is exactly 15 years old in 2025, and the majority of the visiting high-schoolers have the same age.
A Career in IT Cluj, Now!
After the intro session, our colleagues led a tour of the company and presented some career opportunities in IT. Our Sys-admin Zola gave a tour of the server room and described his team’s responsibilities in the outsourcing company. Tifi, Feri, Dénes and Zsolt, software developers at Codespring │ Softech shared some interesting projects they were working on. The students had the chance to learn that our teams deliver highly valued technical solutions for the automotive industry, smart home sector and complex security and alerts systems. During the presentations our colleagues covered the topics about the role of the AI technology, what are the graphs, how statistics are used in a programmer’s work. Of course, the juniors found it entertaining to see the concept of a smart home and how a vacuum cleaner robot and a voice-controlled air conditioning are included in the IoT.
While exploring the atmosphere at Codespring, the high-schoolers had the opportunity to get in touch with our colleagues. They were interested in the future of IT, the impact of ChatGPT on programming and the mathematics and informatics faculty at UBB. We were happy to see their enthusiastic approach to az IT-career opportunity. One of our young guest even said “this is the best day of the School In A Different Way week”.
